THE MAGIC OF THE GREEN JUNGLE

The Amazon region located in the south of the country has 6 departments, which are: Amazonas, Putumayo, Caqueta, Vaupes Guainia, Guaviare. This has a total of 264,945 inhabitants and is the region with the largest indigenous population (42%), despite the fact that This is the largest region is the least populated due to its large jungle extension that mostly prevents being inhabited. The Amazon region has a lot of natural resources such as: biodiversity, subregions, mining resources, hydrography, parks, fauna, flora, national protected reserves; However, these resources are running out, fortunately there is a mechanism, found as a result of the coalition's efforts to reforetation.

It is no secret to anyone that the Amazon is the region richest in biodiversity because it has crops of corn,arroz, copoazu, frijoles, yuca and pataresca; also livestock and fishing are of great importance in this area. It has several species including: the pink dolphin, trees with more than 500 years and the majesty of the Amazon river (the longest river in the world). But unfortunately not everything is good has some disadvantages such as: deforestation, trafficking of flora and fauna, poverty, mining (oil, metals, minerals and natural gas) illicit crops and road construction. As every Colombian region the festivities can not be missed, in this region it holds the Carnival of Mocoa celebrated in the month of December with the purpose of taking care of the roots of the department of Putumayo and the national and international reign of the ecology celebrated in Caquetá in where the queen of ecology is chosen.This region is full of rich and tasty dishes, mostly fish-based, such as: La Gamitana, El Dorado in coconut sauce, Gamitana stuffed, Cream of copoazu, Pataresca, Mojojoy, Casabe, Farina and the iyuco. Last but not least are the typical bales which are native to the tribes, have a profane and magical character, among them are: the dance of the offerings, the San Juanero, the Sayuco, the Bambuco, the dance of the bride  and groom among others.

Finally, we have the following conclusions:

-In the Amazon region is the longest river in the world.

-The Amazon region is the most extensive but less populated due to its great jungle extension.

-The Amazon has the largest indigenous population.

-It is the region richest in biodiversity.
